Mega Quarry Schematic

Mega Quarry Alert

Did you know that an American Hedge Fund has bought property in Melancthon township (north of Shelbourne) and is planning to operate a mega quarry on the site?

The site of the proposed quarry lies over 7,000 acres of prime farmland and over an aquifer that forms the headwaters of five major river systems that are the source of drinking water for more than a million people. Quarries are not usually required to complete an environmental assessment before obtaining a license to operate. In this case, public concern has convinced the Ministry of Natural Resources to work with the Ministry of the Environment to require a full environmental assessment.

Zumba Poster

The Friends of the Guelph Public Library proudly present the staged premiere of the 90-minute comedy,Zumba in the Pool with Carlos, written by Friends member Mary Mulholland, starring GPL's very own CEO Kitty Pope, and a mystery cast of talented local ladies.

Seven women meet in the change room of a fitness club for an aqua Zumba class led by a sexy young instructor. Over the course of a year, they discuss the details of their lives, share their troubles and triumphs and bond. Hilarity reigns as they go over the top preparing for a zumba video taping and their fifteen minutes of fame!

See you there!

Unreasonable people attempt to adapt the world to themselves.
All progress, therefore, depends on unreasonable people.
